We are a family of 5, living and sailing on the shores of Lake Ontario, and constantly looking for new adventures and travels. Once upon a time, as in before we had children, we lived aboard a sailboat (C&C 30) in Puget Sound, near Seattle. We lived in a marina, as we both had jobs, and we sailed on our weekends and vacations. It was a lovely, and hard experience. When we moved back on land, I checked the box “yes” for living aboard in the future, with a couple of modifications, such as a diesel engine, and a shower on board (using quarters to shower at the marina every day takes a little getting used to!). In the meantime, we left Washington state and its beautiful Sound and mountains for an adventure of a different sort: farming!
We spent 3.5 years farming in Idaho: raising goats and making goat and sheep cheese to sell at farmers’ markets and restaurants in the area. And we had child #1 in that time, too. After burnout, exhaustion, and a severe lack of funds, we took a job in Central New York, which is where we find ourselves now, along with 2 more children.
Our feet are itching for more adventure, sailing, and travel. We homeschool, and use every opportunity of travel to teach our kids about the world. We are also teaching our kids to sail aboard our 23 ft Paceship named Bandersnatch.
We think life is better with family adventures, and exploring the world- sailing and travelling with kids.
